The Dragons' Demon

Taking a break from her job of helping people decide between Heaven and Hell, Eve goes for a drink with her brothers. Eve Sinclair cannot believe her ears when her brothers state that not only did they steal a dragon's egg, but a royal one at that. A prank gone bad, Eve heads out to locate the egg and return it to its nest before anyone realizes it gone. Being a higher demon, Eve cannot allow either her or her brothers to be found with the egg. Never did Eve expect the feelings that affect her the minute she picks up the egg.

Ranton is the leader of the Dragon warriors and was placed in charge of this particular egg as its guardian. Finding it not only in the arms of a demon, but happily there, Ranton decides to discover just what this demon has that the dragons would want. Ranton soon discovers what Eve has that he wants and the extremely hot sex is only part of it. Both Eve and Ranton are shaken by the instantaneous passion they experience. Ranton knows just how the dragon in the egg, his brother, will matter in the future of the dragons. After the egg brought them together, will he also stand between Ranton and Eve?

The Dragons' Demonbrings both dragons and demons together - not something that usually will happen. Eve is a higher demon with a demanding job, but even she cannot allow anything happen to a defenseless dragon egg. Ranton is furious that an egg under his protection was taken from the dragon nest, but he's even more surprised when he finds it. Eve and Ranton start off circling around each other, but I was not surprised by the quickness of the passion between them. I was surprised when the egg hatched and just what changes this dragon brought to not only Eve and Ranton, but also to other characters in this mix up. The world of dragons and demons will never be the same again. The Dragons' Demon is a sexy look at demons and dragons that has several humorous points. If you love reading about beings of the underworld, then you will want to add The Dragons' Demon to your library.

Trying to fix the potential damage caused by her brothers' irresponsible prank, Eve is left holding the proverbial bag. Only in this case, the bag is a royal dragon egg, and none other than the Commander of the dragon legion himself has come to collect the precious egg and punish the wrongdoers.

But Ranton's ideas for punishment change dramatically when he lays eyes on the beautiful little demon holding his baby brother's egg...

I'll admit it, I am very partial to stories with dragons - especially shape shifting dragons - but even considering my own partiality to the genre, I can safely state that Marie Harte's The Dragons' Demon absolutely rocked!!! Harte's offering to Samhain Publishing's I Dream of Dragons 1 anthology is extremely sensual, with plenty of M/F love scenes and a few M/F/M m�nage scenes, but she ingeniously mixes it up with a good dose of real emotion. Although a short story, it is easy to feel the attraction between these characters, and even easier to understand when that attraction grows into something more real.

Ranton has to be one of the hottest dragons around - in more ways than one - and his possessiveness of spunky little demon Eve fans the flames of heat even higher in this sassy romance.

Eve is more than capable of holding her own with the domineering dragon commander, and pulls a few tricks of her own that keep Ranton on his toes!

I haven't found any information on either the author's or publisher's sites regarding whether The Dragons' Demon is or will be connected to other stories by Marie Harte, but I will most certainly be standing in line for any sequels that are released. There were several supporting characters I would dearly love to see more of!

Higher demon Eve Sinclair's bet with her siblings has gone very wrong and it's left up to her to fix it. She never believed that they'd actually go along with it and steal a dragon egg and bring it to the Ordinary world but now it's up to her to fix the situation - hopefully before it hatches.

Her job of swaying souls teetering on the brink of Decision will have to be put on hold while she retrieves the dragon egg and returns it to Carmaron before she discovers that her precious egg is missing. There's only one little problem with her plan, the missing dragon's egg has already been discovered - by Ranton, the commander of the dragon legion, and the caretaker of the missing egg. To complicate matters, this isn't just any ordinary dragon's egg . . . oh no, this is a royal egg, it's the future dragon king.

From the moment Eve finds the egg where James and Duncan said they'd left it she feels an immediate bond with the tiny being inside. She knows that she'll never let the egg go despite the fact that demons and dragons do not mix. Soon after finding the egg, Ranton arrives demanding it from her. She refuses to turn it over to him and Ranton is befuddled by the egg's obvious contentment while being held in Eve's arms. The simple fact that the egg is so peacefully lying against the chest of a demon proves that she's special. Ranton is equally curious to find out the identities of the individuals who originally stole the egg and what's so special about this demon that has his future king is such a state of bliss. Never mind the attraction to her that he feels himself. Be prepared for some severe clashing of wills as demons, angels, and dragons collide and battle it out over who's really guilty of stealing a royal dragon's egg.

Marie Harte will leave readers gasping for breath with her contribution to the I DREAM OF DRAGONS series. THE DRAGON'S DEMON gives readers a variety of characters whom we generally think of as evil or villainess and presents them as the type of `people' you'd actually like to know. I got a huge kick out of Eve and the egg's attachment for one another but even more than that loved the ongoing battle between Eve and Ranton for dominance. She's no shrinking violet and isn't about to put up with his big nasty dragon disposition so reading about these two coming together is a lot of fun. Obviously there will be trouble stemming from the theft of the dragon's egg in the first place and I'm dying to know how that turns out for James and Duncan who are both sent off for their punishments toward the end of this story. Wonderfully done Ms. Harte! This is a fun tale which I highly recommend.

It chronicles both women's involvement with interracial romance, drugs, kink and BDSM, prostitution, infidelity and the strange set of coincidences that eventually brought them together.

Kate was a woman who married and had children at a very early age. Feeling a creeping stagnation in her marriage, she yearned for some kind of charge or excitement in her life. What she discovered was that not only were there men in the world who could excite her, but that her libido, long suppressed, was much more powerful than she'd ever expected.

At the same time, her daughter, Jessica was going through all the usual trials of teenage sexuality. But after accidentally seeing her mother having sex with a man who was not her father, Jessica's path altered down a dangerous road.

Set in post-Katrina New Orleans, both women tell a story that is brutally honest, highly erotic and sometimes disturbingly unsafe. Each woman tells the story from her own point of view and we're allowed to see how each of them evolved and how eerily parallel their lives were without realizing it.

They pull no punches, they tell the stories as they happened and they'll take you on a journey through their sexuality that you will never forget.

This Isn't Some "50 Shades" Nonsense

First of all, this isn't that lame "50 Shades" garbage. I couldn't get through the first few chapters because of how unrealistic that book was.

That being said, this book is anything but. It is raw, unnerving and brutally honest. The two ladies go through similar, but separate experiences all the while not knowing that their journey would lead them to a merging path.

There is betrayal, by both the husband and wife. The only difference I would imagine is that the husband took a more vanilla route to any sexual dalliances. I would also venture to say that the number of partners he had was totally eclipsed by the sexual hunger of his wife once she went Black.

At times, you wonder if she will ever survive. She sometimes spirals down paths that take her to some of the lowest places in life anyone could imagine; from prostitution to bestiality. Her lust-love for Black men shows though because no matter how humiliating some situations become, she always go back to being with a Black man. Even when she develops cancer and is nursed back by her husband, she abandons any chance of normalcy just to get back into the lifestyle that set her free sexually.

The daughter goes through similar experiences. Once she leaves her white boyfriend and tries Black there is no stopping her. Her pursuit for sexual freedom is unmatched by many, even at times her insatiable mother. She is also very open-minded when it comes to sex, not pointing fingers at others and accepting them as they are. Such as her brother's incestuous infatuation with her. Her experiences are similar at times to her mothers, from the prostitution to the STDs. Her pleasing nature takes her into the realm of BDSM where she seems to find the right "fit" for what she needs.

And then, all roads lead home. The mother and daughter find themselves at the same party. They also find that they have more in common than they both realized. The love between the two (not incestuous) is heartwarming and bonding. They share their stories with one another and find mutual respect and a renewed relationship. Knowing that they both share a love of Black men brings them even closer. And, being able to explore this within a loving family dynamic seems to have made the whole journey somehow worth it.

I liked this so much that I bought the hard copy, and the Nook version. That should tell you something. Though, this book may not be for everybody, I am sure it will strike you as a sexual journey laid bare and open for all to see.

One of the most honest -- and hottest -- things I have ever read...

Read the story of how two women became "queens of spades" in post-Katrina New Orleans. Written in reaction to "50 Shades," which the mother and daughter Hansen team viewed as unrealistic, this set of intertwined short stories takes the epistolary novel format into the 21st century, as it emerges from intertwined blogposts by a mother and daughter unwittingly taking the same dangerous steps to discovering their sexuality. Sexy, dangerous and unsettling all at once, it is a real page turner, a fast read...but something you will think about for a long time afterwards, no matter your race or gender.

Mind blowing

I became an early Tumblr follower of Kate and Jessica. This is a collection of their stories. It is a very unique and unforgettable journal of two people turning into themselves. Sometimes it is a train wreck. I don't know know if it was hot or made me squirm for other reasons. But it is so raw and unflinching. If its not honest to some degree, whoever wrote this has an incredibly authentic voice. You don't always respect their choices, but you come to care about Kate and Jessica through their journey. It also showed me a world that I did not know existed and I move on the alternative side of things. Very cutting edge. Shocking at times,even for those of us who don't judge. But the read was satisfying and the journey continues. Kudos!

No non-sense, conversational, and informative

If I liked Heil’s first book, What They Don't Tell You About Bipolar Disorder (and I did), then I love his new book, Everyday Instability and Bipolar Disorder. It gives simple to understand examples and explanations that anyone can understand. It is especially helpful for someone like me who has family and friends who are Bipolar, most who are undiagnosed or just recently diagnosed. While I understand the disorder from a clinical perspective it is a completely different experience to read the DSM or a textbook definition of the symptoms and to have someone who has the firsthand knowledge to account the differences within the disorder. The best part of this work is that it helps you understand your loved one, or yourself, on a day-to-day basis. There is more to Bipolar Disorder than the highs and lows we all hear about; there are every day struggles that occur that no one without the disorder has to deal with. It helps to outline these struggles in an understandable and relatable way with multiple examples.
The best thing about Heil’s writing is that you feel like you are having a conversation with a friend. His no non-sense, conversational way of writing is both comforting and amusing while dealing with what can be a difficult subject for many. If you are looking for an easy, informative read from someone who has real life experience from his own life as well as those who come to him for advice, you are in the right place. This book is especially vital to read for friends and family of those who have Bipolar Disorder, as it may shed a light on some of the aspects you may not understand in the everyday living with someone with this disorder. It can be an eye-opening read. I know it was for me. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

A must have for someone dealing with Bipolar Disorder!

As someone recently diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, I realized quickly that there are tons of information available online and in books about how to manage the extreme highs as lows of the disorder, but next to none about how the illness effects your day to day life outside of the extremes. By reading this book I learned about how your thoughts can be "stained" by the disorder. I learned how to effectively identify and deal with stained thoughts and I saw examples of how stained thinking can effect a persons life on both sides of the disorder, a concept that was new to me, among other helpful things This book was very informative and the real, down to earth way in which it was written made it easy to read and to relate to the writer. As I have read previous work by this author, I can say that his body of knowledge is unique and his methods refreshing. I would recommend this book to anyone who is bipolar, loves a bipolar person, or just wants to better understand a commonly misunderstood illness.

Good book on boolean algebra and logic for more advanced students

This book is devoted to two separate and related topics: the theory of Boolean algebra and logic and also the synthesis and simplification of switching and logic circuits. This is a good book for students taking a course on digital logic that has more of a computer science or mathematics perspective rather than an electrical engineering viewpoint. There is no mention of gates or digital circuit building blocks of any kind in this outline. The treatment of switching and logic circuits is limited to the combinational circuits - those circuits whose outputs depend only on the present inputs.

Chapter 1 goes over the basics of boolean logic and the notation used in this outline. Chapter 2 discusses sets and their operations and extends boolean logic to sets of objects. Chapter 3 discusses Boolean algebra, which is a set B together with two binary operations, a singular operation, the two specific elements 0 and 1, and a set of axioms. Thus, in this chapter we are led more into the realm of mathematics than circuits with a good number of proofs as exercises. Chapter 4 abruptly changes course and discusses switching and logic circuits. Here, previous discussions of Boolean logic lead to the practical tasks of minimization and the finding of all prime implicants of a set. The final chapter changes course once again and discusses some advanced topics in Boolean algebra such as lattices, rings, and m-completeness.

Although no specific previous knowledge is really explicitly required to understand this material, I would say that working through the material I found that experience with mathematical proofs, set theory, and oddly enough, abstract algebra were all very advantageous in understanding this outline. It is one of the better written Schaum's outline in that the theory is very well explained. I would recommend it for the more mathematically inclined who are interested in digital logic.

digital designers can find useful problems

For those of you inclined to the theoretical aspects of computing, this book may be good revision. The first half of the book deals with set theory and then with Boolean algebra. The Boolean concepts should be easy to follow, and likewise with the problems presented to you here.

What is more challenging is the second half, dealing with switching circuits. You can see techniques that map from a logic circuit to its Boolean representation. And then the vital idea of a Karnaugh map, in order to simplify that representation. Digital circuit designers live for this stuff! Many problems to chew on. See how well you really understand the material.

You might look with askance on the publication date of 1970. 1970?! Moore had barely formulated his law a few years earlier. And Medium Scale Integration was the order of the day, perhaps, with the first microprocessor still under design. But the maths in this book still holds true now. In fact, it is even more relevant today. Because the circuits are orders of magnitude larger, so finding efficient means of circuit minimisation are more urgent. For that, you need a solid theoretical basis. And this book can test that understanding.

Horrible publisher that doesn't allow this book on mobile. I didn't notice because I set it to push to my computer fist, thinking that later I could just load it up on my Nexus 10 for class. But no, computer only. Completely unacceptable. Not really sure how they justify this.

The description even says that it is available on all devices where it says "Print Replica" or at least that is what is implied. Very unsatisfied.

So helpful, I'm not selling this book back!

This book was required for a Supply Chain Management class I took last semester. Throughout the semester I used the book for further explanation of topics that I didn't quite understand from lecture and found the explanations to be helpful and straightforward. The case studies in this book are also very interesting! Definitely one of the better textbooks I have purchased throughout completing my undergrad.

Not so much a review but a bit of a grump. I purchased the hard copy of Supply Chain Management by Nada R. Sanders for my upcoming class. I commute to work so I thought I would also buy the Kindle version to utilize the text to speech mode for listening while driving. However, the product information states Text-to-Speech: Not enabled. Bummer... inconvenient for me and a lost sale for the publisher.

Kim Kluger-Bell is a psychotherapist and marriage and family therapist in private practice in Berkeley, California. She specializes in helping individuals and couples heal from such reproductive crises as infertility, pregnancy loss, and abortion. She lives in Albany, California, with her husband and son.

An amazing insight into a complex and emotional subject.

Reading this book has been a very thought-provoking experience for me, on many levels. I have read many books on miscarriage and other forms of pregnancy loss, but none has attempted the links that this book has.
The author looks at the way in which pregnancy loss is seen by Western societies and explores the resulting effects on women who lose babies in different circumstances. There is much balance and sensitivity in this book, which is a tremendous achievement for the author.
What I found particularly illuminating was the way in which case studies are used to look at how losing a baby can echo previous experiences, particularly in childhood. Whilst readers are unlikely to be carbon copies of the people described in the case studies, there are many subtle threads within them to make you just stop and think, and begin the fascinating process of making connections between your own experiences.
I wrote down some key quotes from it in my journal, so that I could reflect on them and see if applying them to my own experience of pregnancy loss and childhood would reveal any new interpretations for me. There are not many books which achieve that level of insight!
The reference section at the back includes Internet web sites, which reflects how up to date it is.
All in all, a terrific book which the author should be very proud of writing.

A MUST READ IF YOU HAVE LOST A PREGNANCY!

After loosing my first baby to miscarriage I went searching for answers to my feelings and emotions. At times I felt (and still do) like I was going totally crazy and my feelings were unjustified or an overreaction.
Kim Kluger-Bell made me understand and realise that my feelings are normal and felt by many other women out there. The way she described many of the feelings and thoughts about other people could have very well be written about myself. I could really relate to what she was saying and she has made me understand that nothing is wrong with me - the problem is with society!

Best book on the topic

I read this book when it first came out several years ago and I still think it is the best book available on the topic of pregnancy loss because it is so intelligently written and profoundly moving. Its not just a book about loss, its a book about life! I have recently read a couple of negative reviews of this book--which seem to be based solely on the fact that the author includes abortion in several short sections of the book. I was shocked and dismayed to see that someone called the book "insensitive" for including abortion--clearly that reviewer is a very angry person! I hope that no one will be discouraged from reading this book because of that, because the compassion the author brings to both the topics of miscarriage, still birth and abortion is very healing for all.

Challenging

This music is awesome! The beautiful Mannheim Steamroller sounds and beats come to life through this book. The unit I purchased was spiral bound by the seller, which I think is an absolute necessity with these pieces. Some pieces are 8 pages long, with CODA's and repeats. It makes life so much more simple just having it spiral bound. If you cannot find one spiral bound, you can have it done at a local copy center. Also note that this is the REAL sheet music, and not some easy big-note piano! Be sure you are advanced enough to play these songs, or you won't like it. They are hard, but so beautiful!

Great christmas piano music

Great arrangements of well known christmas songs for the piano.
A few a very difficult (odd tempos between right and left hands).
None are 'easy'. Not for a beginner!
And not really meant for caroling either, I think only one maybe two has words with it.
If you love the Mannheim Steamrollers and love playing the piano, this is a must buy.

Lovely book for advanced piano

If you love this CD, you will love playing it on the piano. Not for the easy or intermediate level. Challenging enough for an advanced pianist, but not so much that you can't learn a few during the Christmas season. I loved playing several songs from this book. I had borrowed it from someone else, but would love to buy it for myself.

Being aware is key

There are many people who may think that even discussing this topic makes one a pessimist, but I like how this book emphasizes want situational awareness really is, and why it's important simply to be aware - aware of your surroundings and the potentially dangerous situations you may find yourself in.
When you're aware, you can prepare, and then you become capable of dealing with situations that may pose danger to your life or the life of your loved ones. It's really not about being scared, worrying, pessimistic or paranoid, it's about becoming someone who's capable to survive and protect.
I think this quite a useful book on the topic, definitely an interesting read with tons of useful information, especially if you didn't know anything about this concept before.
